Virtual Mentoring Program
Looking for help with remote learning?
​Don’t just hire a neighborhood teen --
​hire a STEM Alliance Mentor!
  •  Increase your child’s digital learning independence with 1:1 mentor time!
  • Get homework help for students in any subject Grades 1-8
  • The program helps develop critical digital skills to support remote learning and homework assignments
  • All Virtual Mentors receive a minimum of 6 hours training with the STEM Alliance leadership team and are shadowed and advised by a 1:1 STEM Coach

​Cost of Program: $60 per week starting now through Feb 5th.
Weekly fee includes 2 one hour Virtual Mentor sessions.

What will my child Gain From This Program?

​The Virtual Mentoring Program:
  • Connects students in grades 1-8 with a regular 1:1 Virtual Mentor relationship via ZOOM
  • Provides online support to improve the mentee’s skills in digital fluency such as:
    • Organizing the digital learning space for effectiveness
    • Maintaining passwords and other tools (calculator, books, notebooks, etc…)
    • Establishing routines
    • Navigating Google Classroom & other District resources
  • Provides connection through a peer or adult mentor relationship
  • Offers content area support for homework, long term projects and/or skills practice

Who will Be Mentoring my Child?

All STEM Alliance Virtual Mentors are:
  • Background checked
  • Engaged near peer mentors who understand students' challenges and serve as positive role models
  • Trained on Zoom and various tech platforms by STEM Alliance staff
  • Taught how to help create positive digital learning routines with kids
  • Supervised by professional educators
  • Given on-going feedback and training updates
